Sunita Satapathy appointed general manager at Starcom Mumbai

Satapathy moves in from Media Direction and has 13 years of experience in the industry

Starcom & #BANNER1 & # Mumbai has brought Sunita Satapathy on board as general manager. She will report to Nikhil Rangnekar, executive director, West, Starcom India. She will primarily look after the Heinz, Kotak Mahindra and General Mills accounts.

Sandeep Lakhina, managing director, West and South, Starcom India, says, "We are glad to have Satapathy join our Mumbai team. Her vast experience and skills will enable us to offer better services and capabilities to our clients."

Satapathy was earlier working for Media Direction, where she spent less than two years. She began her career in 1995 with Lintas Media Group (LMG) as media director. After spending six and a half years there, she stepped down as group head and supervisor and relocated to Lowe Tanzania in late 2001. In Lowe, the media function was integrated with the creative and Satapathy headed the media department.

In 2005, Satapathy moved to Initiative Mumbai as director. She stayed there for almost two years before moving to Media Direction in 2006. She has handled planning and buying for key clients in her earlier stints and also led new business initiatives.

Satapathy has worked on businesses such as Bombay Dyeing, Siemens, Tata Motor's Mercedes, Oberoi Group of Hotels, SBI Mutual Funds and Allahabad Bank.

Rangnekar says, "A very likeable and involved client servicing person, Satapathy will be a key asset in our quest to delight clients. I am sure the agency as a whole will gain from her experience and expertise."
