Anil Sethi is president of Sony Ericsson

Sethi has done several high profile assignments with the Sony Group, including business and commercial roles in Europe, India, Saudi Arabia and the UAE

Anil Sethi has been appointed president and region head of Sony Ericsson with immediate effect. Sethi joins Sony Ericsson after an eight year stint with Sony in Toronto, Canada. The last post he held there was that of senior vice-president, broadcast and business solutions and systems integration.

Sethi has done several high profile assignments with the Sony Group, including business and commercial roles in Europe, India, Saudi Arabia and the UAE. During his stint with the company in India, he established and managed Sony's first production facility and its headquarters in the country. He was closely involved in setting up Sony’s regional operations in the Gulf and the hub office in Dubai.

In an official communiqué, Dick Komiyama, president, Sony Ericsson, says, “Sethi’s appointment underlines the growing strategic importance of India for Sony Ericsson. We are continuing to build our operations in this market. Last year, we established a manufacturing presence through partners and opened our own research and development unit in Chennai. One of Sethi’s focus areas going forward will be to drive our growth plan in India.”

“I am delighted to return to India and bring home my international business experience. The Indian marketplace is exciting and of strategic importance to Sony Ericsson. Our manufacturing presence and research and development in India are a reflection of our commitment to this great country and its growing consumer base,” says Sethi.
