NDTV Good Times on digital network in Singapore

The channel will be available on SingTel's mio TV

Lifestyle channel NDTV Good Times is now available in Singapore on mio TV, a digital pay TV service of telecom giant SingTel. The channel will be available through package as well as a la carte offers.

mio TV is delivered through the IPTV platform to television sets via a set top box and features interactive services such as video on-demand, DVR, picture-in-picture and programme search.

Speaking about the launch, Rahul Sood, head, affiliate sales and network distribution, NDTV, says, “NDTV Good Times is focusing on its overseas distribution and Singapore is one of the countries we are launching in. We are in active discussions with a few big players in other countries.”

Besides India, the channel is currently available in Mauritius, the Maldives and Sri Lanka.

In fact, NDTV's news channel, NDTV 24x7, is already present in 56 countries, including Singapore.

On mio TV, NDTV Good Times is available in the English pack, priced at Singapore $ 19.90 per month. It is also available at the a la carte price of Signapore $ 4.28 per month.

Speaking about the market in Singapore, Sood says, “We are reaching out to people who are primarily interested in South Asian lifestyle, culture and travel. Our objective is to make people aware of the region.”

While the feed in Singapore is the same as that in India, the channel may add another feed later. The channel is also open to producing local content there.

NDTV Good Times is a brand tie up between the NDTV Group and UB's Kingfisher.
