RAM Week 42: Radio Mirchi and Big FM continue their lead in RAM markets

The trend of the past few months continues -- while Radio Mirchi leads in three RAM markets, namely, Mumbai, Delhi and Kolkata; Big FM rules Bengaluru

The Radio Audience Measurement (RAM) data for Week 42 for four RAM markets shows that the leadership status quo remains unchanged -- Radio Mirchi leads in Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata; and Big FM rules Bengaluru.

Mumbai

Radio Mirchi leads in the city with a market share of 18.7 per cent. It is followed by Red FM and Fever FM, in second and third place, respectively.

Red FM has a market share of 14.2 per cent with a loss of 0.2 percentage point over Week 41. This week, Fever FM has moved up three spots to No. 3 – it has a market share of 12.8 per cent, with a gain of 0.7 percentage point.

Radio City has slipped a position to No. 4, with a market share of 12.7 per cent. It is followed by Big FM with a market share of 12 per cent.

The sixth and seventh positions are occupied by AIR FM and Radio One, respectively, with market shares of 11.8 and 6.5 per cent.

In Week 42, amongst the other stations in Mumbai, AIR FM Rainbow has a market share of 4.3 per cent, followed by Vividh Bharati (3.2 per cent), Akashvani Mumbai (2.1 per cent) and Meow FM (1.7 per cent).

Delhi

Radio Mirchi leads with a market share of 25.5 per cent, gaining 0.2 percentage point. Fever FM and AIR FM Gold are placed second and third, respectively.

Fever FM has garnered a market share of 18.7 per cent, registering a gain of 0.7 percentage point. AIR FM has a market share of 16.7 per cent, losing 1.7 percentage points.

Red FM is at No. 4, with a market share of 10.3 per cent; while Radio City is at No. 5, with a market share of 7.6 per cent.

This week, Big FM and Radio One have garnered market shares of 6.2 per cent and 5.8 per cent, respectively, thus occupying the sixth and seventh positions. Meow FM is at No. 8, with a market share of 2.8 per cent.

Amongst the other stations in Delhi, Hit FM has a market share of 2.3 per cent, followed by AIR FM Rainbow (2.2 per cent), Vividh Bharati (1.7 per cent) and Akashvani (0.2 per cent).

Bengaluru

In Week 42, Big FM continues to lead in Bengaluru with a market share of 19.7 per cent, gaining 0.4 percentage point over Week 41. It is followed by Radio Mirchi and Fever FM in second and third spot, respectively.

Radio Mirchi has a market share of 17.5 per cent, gaining 0.2 percentage point; while Fever FM has 15.3 per cent, gaining 1.6 percentage points.

AIR FM and Radio City occupy fourth and fifth position in the city, respectively, with market shares of 11.7 per cent and 11.6 per cent.

Radio One has moved up a spot No. 6, with a market share of 8.5 per cent. It is followed by S FM, with a market share of 6.6 per cent.

Vivid Bharati is at No. 8, with a market share of 5.5 per cent, registering a gain of 1.3 percentage points.

This week, amongst other radio stations, Radio Indigo has 2.2 per cent market share, followed by Gyan Vani (0.7 per cent) and Akashvani (0.6 per cent).

Kolkata

The status quo in Kolkata too remains unchanged, with Radio Mirchi, Big FM and Friends FM placed first, second and third in the city, respectively.

Radio Mirchi has a market share of 19.8 per cent. Big FM has 16.9 per cent, registering a loss of 2.9 percentage points over Week 41; while Friends FM has a market share of 14.6 per cent and has gained 1.4 percentage points.

Aamar FM is at No. 4, with a market share of 11 per cent. Red FM continues at No. 5, with a market share of 7.4 per cent. It is followed by Fever FM, which has a market share of 6.7 per cent.

Radio One and Meow FM continue at their positions of last week – No. 7 and No. 8, respectively. Their market shares are 6.2per cent and 5.8 per cent, respectively.

In Week 42, amongst the other stations in Kolkata, AIR FM Rainbow has a market share of 3.4 per cent, followed by AIR FM Gold (3.2 per cent), Akashvani (2.9 per cent), Power FM (1.2 per cent) and Vividh Bharati (0.8 per cent).
