Publicis Ambience wins creative duties for JK Helene Curtis

The media duties were recently won by MediaVest, a division of the Starcom MediaVest Group. Ad spends for the coming year, according to sources, fall in the range of Rs 10-15 crore

According to informed sources, Publicis Ambience has bagged the creative duties for JK Helene Curtis following a multi agency pitch. Anirudhha Banerjee, president and chief operating officer, Publicis Ambience was unavailable for a confirmation/comment on the agency's win.

The creative pitch also involved Rediffusion Y&R, Contract Advertising and Network Advertising, sources close to the development inform afaqs!. Ad spends for the account in the coming year fall in the range of Rs 10-15 crore, a source further adds.

The media duties for the same were awarded to MediaVest, a division of the Starcom MediaVest Group, a few weeks ago. The incumbent creative agency is Dentsu Marcom.

For the record, JK Helene Curtis is a part of the Raymond Group and has been in existence in the personal grooming and toiletries industry since 1964. The company's portfolio includes Park Avenue toiletries (including hair styling gels, perfume spray, after shave products and soaps), Premium toiletries and Tru Tone hair dyes in the male personal grooming and home care categories. Some of its products include Eau de Cologne, room fresheners, car fresheners and deodorants. The company also offers corporate gifting solutions.

The incumbent, Dentsu, had recently crafted a commercial for Park Avenue soaps, which showed a man in a shower while his girlfriend waits for him in his home. The commercial was a sensorial one, showing jets of water splashing against the man's body as he revels in the refreshing feeling he gets on using the soap. 'It's a man thing' was the positioning statement on which the commercial concluded.
