Khazanchi to handle business with Banerjee at Publicis Ambience
As per a senior level restructuring, Aniruddha Banerjee, president and chief operating officer and Ashish Khazanchi, national creative director have been named chairperson and vice-chairperson, respectively
Ashok Kurien was chairperson at Publicis Ambience about three years ago. In the interim period, no one else has held the chair at the organisation.
Khazanchi will now focus on the business development at the agency, along with overseeing the creative output. With this change, Publicis Ambience will have a single NCD structure. Prasanna Sankhe will continue with his duties as national creative director.
"The core management team for the agency will now include Ashish and Ani," says Chopra. The decision, says Chopra, is in line with the future leadership team that will lead Publicis Ambience.
Banerjee will continue to handle his earlier duties as president and COO. Ani (as Banerjee is better known in the ad circle) started his career with Contract, followed by an eight year stint with Clarion (now Bates 141). He then moved to Leo Burnett, where he headed the Bajaj, P&G and Heinz teams, and also rose to be the executive director and Mumbai head in four years. In 2004, he joined Everest as chief operating officer. Banerjee has been with Publicis since 2007.
"Along with my earlier responsibilities of running Ambience, Ashish and I will play a bigger role in the management and in taking forward the Publicis brand," shares Banerjee.
Khazanchi joined Publicis Ambience as NCD in 2007, sharing the role with Sankhe. Earlier, he was executive creative director at Rediffusion Y&R.
