Armed with 17 years of experience in sales and out of home, Singh will be responsible for business development in the North region

Aaren Initiative, the outdoor arm of Lintas Media Group (LMG), has appointed Charan Jeet Singh as associate business director. He will report to Vivek Lakhwara, chief executive officer, Aaren Initiative and will be responsible for heading business development and taking care of the agency's existing clients in the North zone, including Nokia, Sony, Monte Carlo and Muthoot Finance.

Singh was earlier associated with Big Street as regional head, sales, North and East. Confirming the development to afaqs!, he says, "I am happy to be a part of LMG. A major chunk of the outdoor business is still unorganised and agencies help in consolidation in a big way."

Singh holds an MBA degree and has 17 years of experience in sales and outdoor. He began his career in 1993 with Modi GBC, a company dealing in paper shredding machines. Next, he moved to DHL as branch head, Lucknow, followed by a four year stint as regional head, Radio City, UP. Subsequently, he joined Sahara One, where he dealt with various clients including Pepsi, Dabur and Hero Honda.

His first stint with outdoor began in 2006 when he joined News Outdoor, the outdoor division of STAR TV. After two years, the company ended its operations and Singh moved to Big Street.

Talking about the outdoor scenario in India, he says that international media owners have started showing interest in India. Also, according to him, agencies need a fresh approach for providing outdoor solutions and this will happen only when people from varied backgrounds come into the industry.
