Confirming the win to afaqs!, Satyajit Sen, CEO, ZenithOptimedia, adds, "Since the channel will be re-launching next year, we will use a lot of modern media activity for its promotion."

Launched in 2007, BBC Entertainment was so far available only on the direct-to-home platform (DTH), Tata Sky. Furthermore, for the last three years, the channel has had no advertising. With the revamp, it will be beefing up its distribution and bringing advertisers on-board too.

The channel will be available in the eight metros and selected mini-metros within the next three months.

According to published reports, revenue for BBC's channels across Asia has grown by 70.4 per cent to £1.4 million last year. At present, BBC Worldwide Channels' revenue is £39.2 million.
