Jitender Dabas to join McCann, Delhi

His predecessor at McCann, Sandip Mahapatra, will now spearhead integrated planning for McCann Worldgroup.

Jitender Dabas, executive planning director and vice-president, JWT Delhi will join McCann Erickson, Delhi to head and strengthen its planning function. His predecessor at McCann, Sandip Mahapatra, will now spearhead integrated planning for McCann Worldgroup.

Commenting on the move, Prasoon Joshi, executive chairperson, McCann Worldgroup, says, "I immediately knew that Jitender is the kind of planner I have always respected. Dabas has spent 14 years in the advertising and communication industry. He started as an account management executive with FCB Ulka, moving on to strategic planning at Grey and finally, joined JWT at its Delhi branch. He has been at JWT for the past five years.

Previous to this he has worked on Airtel DTH, Pizza Hut, GE Money, SBI Cards, Hyundai, Compaq, Mother Dairy, Arvind Brands, Apollo tyres & etc."

He's the winner of WPP's Atticus award for original thinking in Marketing & Communication. He won the Asian Marketing Effectiveness award in 2009 for the Congress Party's election campaign. The work on

Congress & Nokia also won effies in 2009 & 2010. He was also voted among the Top 5 Brand Pioneers in the global JWT network in 2010.
