UTV Movies India to be launched in the United Kingdom

UTV Movies India forays into the United Kingdom, giving viewers the opportunity to experience Bollywood directly on their television screens.

UTV Movies has taken the Bollywood passion and spirit to a global level with the premier of UTV Movies India in the United Kingdom (UK) on December 12, 2011. The channel will be available on BSkyB platform as a free-to-air channel on EPG number 797.

Sky Media, which is one of the largest media sales houses in the UK, will handle the advertising sales for the channel in the UK market. The company will ensure the successful entry of the channel into the region, as well as maximise its ad revenues. TVMedia3 consummated the deal between UTV and Sky Media.

UTV is a household name in India and to the South Asian community in the UK. It delivers quality content through its studio's links with Hindi film industry, as well as through its own library which consists of more than 400 titles, including recent blockbusters like Guzaarish, No One Killed Jessica, Tees Maar Khan, Tere Bin Laden, and Kartik Calling Kartik.

The reason behind launching UTV Movies India in the UK is the massive popularity of Bollywood movies. With the launch, the channel aims to amplify the growing popularity of Bollywood movies. The Hindi language channel will have English subtitles to make global viewers enjoy and understand Hindi movies.

UTV Movies is already available internationally in the United States, Australia, New Zealand, Malaysia, Sri Lanka, Nepal, the United Arab Emirates, East Africa, and Canada.
