InstaMedia launches Indian content network
The online publisher has launched four new websites that will focus on the automobile, health, mobile phone and Indian politics and entertainment segments.
InstaMedia, the content network firm and online publisher of various niche web properties, has announced the launch of its first network of websites targeted specifically towards Indian audiences. The Indian channel of the network will debut with four sites that provide in-depth coverage on autos (www.automotto.com), cell phones (www.cellphonebeat.com), health (www.diyhealth.com), and entertainment and politics (www.instablogs.com) segments.
The four websites will feature content exclusively tailored for the Indian audience, with a dedicated team of in-house editors, researchers and freelancers.
Instablogs, which started as a corporate blog and changed to a citizen journalism website, will now feature content focusing on Indian politics and entertainment. Cellphonebeat is slated to be a community-driven magazine that keeps a tab on the latest in the mobile phone industry. Automotto will cover the auto industry, with latest news, reviews and launches of new cars and bikes. DIYHealth is designed to be a community-generated website dedicated to the principles of 'Help, Support, Overcome' on health issues.
For the record, Shimla-based InstaMedia received Rs 18 crore as investment in 2010. The content network business consists of many sites across various genres, including Bornrich.org (lifestyle), Gizmowatch.com (gadgets), Hometone.org (smart homes), Greendiary.com (green living), Thedesignblog.org (design), AutoMotto.org (automobile), Styleguru.org (fashion), Celebguru.org (entertainment) and Instablogs.com (news and citizen journalism).
