ZenithOptimedia confirms that it has won the media mandate for Siemens after a multi-agency pitch. The account size is pegged at Rs 20 crore.

Siemens officials, however, remained unavailable for comment.

ZenithOptimedia works with a range of clients from different sectors such as Reckitt Benckiser, Nestle and others. It provides full range of services in communications planning, media execution, strategic resources, evaluation and consulting, finance and accounting through specialised units such as Performics, Newscast, Moxie, Ninah, Sponsorship Intelligence and Scoop.

The Siemens Group in India comprises 17 companies with 21 manufacturing plants, and a wide network of sales and service offices across the country, with more than 500 channel partners.

It is one of the leading powerhouse in electronics and electrical engineering with a business volume aggregating about Rs 12,000 Crore. The company operates in the core business areas of industry, infrastructure and cities, energy and healthcare.

The history of Siemens in India dates back to 1867, when Werner von Siemens personally supervised the laying of the first telegraph line between London and Calcutta. The first company office was founded in 1922, and its first assembly plant began operations in 1956.
