11 GRPs separate Colors and Star Plus

Colors, Zee TV gained in Week 30, while all other Hindi GECs lost eyeballs.

Riding high on the success of its fiction and non-fiction shows, Colors has narrowed the gap with the genre leader, Star Plus.

As per TAM data (HSM, 4+, C&S, including LC1 market) provided by a TAM subscriber, Colors is just 11 GRPs away from Star Plus. Colors added 17 GRPs in Week 30 to close the week with 224 GRPs. The prime-time shows of the channel are doing well and five of its shows featured in the top 10 shows' list.

Colors had premiered the Hindi feature film, David Dhawan's 'Chashme Baddoor', on July 21 that rated 1.5 TVRs in its first airing at 12 pm and 1.2 TVRs in its second airing at 6 pm.

Meanwhile, despite losing around 10 GRPs, Star Plus maintained its leadership amongst the Hindi GECs. The channel grossed 233 GRPs in the week ended July 27. Four of its shows appeared in the most watched show's list. Its talent hunt show India's Dancing Superstar fetched 1.5 TVRs on July 21 and 1.8 TVRs on July 27.

Zee TV held on to the third spot with the addition of 9 GRPs. The channel grossed 167 GRPs in the latest week of TAM. Its biggest home-grown property, Dance India Dance's latest season DID Super Moms clocked 2 TVRs on July 21 and 2.4 TVRs on July 27. One of its shows occupied a position in the top show's list.

Sony Entertainment Television lost 2 GRPs to conclude the week with 155 GRPs. The channel had premiered Imraan Hashmi-starrer 'Ek Thi Daayan' on July 21. The movie recorded 1.6 TVRs each during both its airings, at 1 pm and 9.30 pm.

MSM's second Hindi GEC SAB garnered 147 GRPs (last week 152) while Star India's second rung GEC Life OK registered 118 GRPs (last week 121). SAB's Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashma featured in the top shows' hierarchy.

Sahara One maintained its status quo with 17 GRPs.

In the shows list, Star Plus' Diya Aur Baati Hum continues to rule the space with 4.8 TVRs. It is followed by Colors' Balika Vadhu that notched 4.4 TVRs in Week 30.

At No. 3 is SAB's Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashma, peak rating of which was 4.1 TVRs. The show was followed by Zee TV's Qubool Hai that rated 4 TVRs in the week.

Star Plus' second hit fiction show Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai recorded 3.4 TVRs, occupying the fifth spot on the chart. The next in the hierarchy is Colors' Comedy Nights with Kapil that notched 3.3 TVRs. Comedy Nights with Kapil is the leader in the non-fiction/reality shows space currently.

At No. 7 is Star Plus' Pyaar Ka Dard that registered 3.1 TVRs, followed by Colors' Sasural Simar Ka which clocked 2.9 TVRs. Colors' Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa and Star Plus' Saathiya Saath Nibhana shared the ninth spot with 2.8 TVRs. At No. 10 is Colors' Madhubala, which generated 2.7 TVRs.
