GEC Watch: Star Plus on top; Zee gains share: BARC
Zee TV's 'Kumkum Bhagya' was the most watched show in the genre, according to BARC.

As per BARC data, Star Plus topped the charts by garnering 387389 GVTs (last week: 409238 GVTs). At the No. 2 spot is Colors, with 364532 GVTs (last week: 366692 GVTs), followed by Zee TV and Life OK with 275177 GVTs and 227424 GVTs (last week: 256317 GVTs and 235733 GVTs), respectively. SAB stood fifth with 190945 GVTs (last week: 191630 GVTs).
A look at the shows: According to BARC, Zee TV's 'Kumkum Bhagya' was the most watched show in the genre; it got 7360 TVTs. At No. 2 and No. 3 are two of Colors' shows, namely 'Sasural Simar Ka' with 6044 TVTs and 'Udaan' with 5501 TVTs. Star Plus' 'Saath Nibhaana Saathiya' followed with 5445 TVTs. Colors' 'Swaragini' is at No. 5 with 5348 TVTs.
As per TAM data, Star Plus tops in Week 34; the channel got 236 GRPs. Colors stood second with 221 GRPs, followed by Zee TV and SAB TV with 156 and 127 GRPs, respectively. Life OK finished fifth (126 GRPs), followed by Sony Entertainment Television (115 GRPs).
Sony was followed by &TV (59 GRPs), Zee Anmol, (32 GRPs), Star Utsav (28 GRPs) and Rishtey (22 GRPs).
A look at the shows: According to TAM, Zee TV's 'Kumkum Bhagya' was the most watched show in the genre; it got 4.48 TVR. Star Plus' 'Yeh Hai Mohabbatein' (3.62 TVR) and Colors' 'Swaragini' (3.41 TVR) were next in the top ten list. Star Plus' 'Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai' (3.38 TVR) and 'Diya Aur Baati Hum' (3.36 TVR) were at No. 4 and No. 5, respectively.
The last five spots were occupies by Colors' 'Sasural Simar Ka' (3.24 TVR), 'Meri Aashiqui Tumse Hi' (3.23 TVR), 'Udaan' (3.15 TVR), 'Chakravartin Ashok Samrat' (3.02 TVR) and 'Balika Vadhu' (3.02 TVR), respectively.
