Tanmay Mohanty

Commenting on the new business, Tanmay Mohanty, managing director, Performics and Resultrix, says, "Localised commerce is only set to grow in India, as consumers resort to the comfort of shopping from known stores, within a few kilometres of their homes or offices. This also gives them the benefit of speedy service. Zopper is an ambitious hyper-local marketplace and has huge plans of expansion in newer categories, as well as in new towns and cities. With our superior digital capabilities and seamless play in content, data, communications, and analytics, we will help Zopper scale up effectively and reach out to newer digital audiences."

Harneet Singh Rajpal

Harneet Singh Rajpal, chief business officer, Zopper, says, "Performics has been known for its superior digital capabilities and marketing expertise. It brings new elements to the game and its fresh innovative approach, enthusiasm, and energy makes it a vital partner for us. Performics' strategic framework and ability to execute with speed and accuracy has played a huge role in our entrusting it with our digital mandate. We look forward to a rewarding working relationship."

Founded by Surjendu Kulia and Neeraj Jain, Zopper, a local shopping e-commerce platform, combines the benefits of shopping at a local retail store along with the convenience of online shopping. The company is backed by marquee investors such as Tiger Global, Blume Ventures, and Nirvana Ventures Advisors.

Zopper allows consumers to choose from a wide range of electronics, mobiles, and home appliances from local neighbourhood stores.

Performics, the performance marketing arm of Publicis Media, was launched in India in 2010. It claims to have become one of the largest buyers of Google in India in keeping with its global tradition. Its core offerings include Search, Affiliate, and Facebook. Some of the clients for Performics are Vistara, Airtel, OLX, ICICI Bank, Star India, Standard Chartered Bank, Birla Sun Life Insurance, and Tata AIG General Insurance.
