Hindustan Unilever Limited (HUL), a fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) company, has announced the segregation of its foods and refreshments business into two separate businesses, namely, foods and refreshments.
The company has elevated Sudhir Sitapati, currently regional category vice-president -- refreshments, South Asia and Africa, Unilever, as executive director, refreshments. The elevation marks Sitapati's induction in the company's management committee.
Geetu Verma, currently, executive director, foods and refreshments, has been designated as executive director, foods, and will continue to be a part of the company's management committee.
Prior to his new appointment, Sitapati worked as general manager, personal wash category, for HUL. He joined HUL in 1999 as a management trainee from IIM Ahmedabad. In the last 17 years that he has spent with the company, he has worked in various roles across customer development and marketing within the home and personal care (HPC), as well as foods and refreshments categories. He brings with him the experience of working in diverse markets like Europe, South East Asia, and Africa, in addition to India.
