Computer Associates International, Inc. (CA), the world's leading business solutions provider, announced on Tuesday that Automated Systems Inc, is using its NetworkIT network management solution to optimise the availability and performance of its new Network Operations Center (NOC). Since 1981, Automated Systems has been providing businesses and organisations throughout the Midwest with quality computing services and equipment. Now, with offices in Lincoln, Omaha and Kansas City, it is well positioned to supply full-service technology solutions to its clients.

Automated Systems will use CA's 24 x 7 NOC to monitor and control day-to-day operations of its clients' IT environment, including network and systems management, desktop and performance management, as well as diagnostic troubleshooting and support. Automated Systems opted to establish its NOC with CA's solution for distributed networks because of the powerful, centralised management capabilities of NetworkIT.

Through policy-based management, NetworkIT aligns service levels with business objectives to provide ongoing availability, optimal performance, and management of networks in a business context.

With CA's technology, Automated Systems will be able to provide superior eBusiness IT infrastructure management and enhanced network reliability to its clients, allowing them to focus on their core business. At the time of implementation, Automated Systems joined CA's VIP partner program, and selected TechData as it enterprise distributor partner.

CA's NetworkIT will provide Automated Systems with the capacity to address potential problems or issues, before they impact the daily business of a client. In most cases, Automated Systems will be able to resolve a problem remotely, transparent to the end-user.

"This collaboration between CA and Automated Systems will enable customers in small and medium-sized businesses to access industry-leading solutions such as NetworkIT to manage their eBusiness infrastructure," said Suzanne Swanson, CA vice-president of business development, networking business unit.

"As the realm of eBusiness expands, remote managed services will become a requirement rather than an option in network management. Automated Systems will leverage CA's technology to address the burgeoning needs of its clients."

Brad Perry, operations manager, Automated Systems, added, "By enhancing our clients' eBusiness initiatives, we are fortifying partnerships with our clients. Also, now that CA's NetworkIT is helping our technical staff manage our clients' business critical networks and IT environments, we are able to provide a superior level of service."
