Halloween and horror ads

Bite-sized horror stories are making waves in a pre-Halloween blast.

Fox Digital Studio and Mars candy brands teamed up together for Halloween with a creepy series of two-minute horror films that are airing on Fox TV networks. The films emerged from a single creepy idea - someone being followed from the front.

The makers of M&Ms, Starburst and Snickers did not know that they were actually working on ads even as production was in full swing. M&Ms ‘The Road’ is based on a real event that happened to Jack’s (one of the directors) girlfriend. It is a small-town creepy story.

Starburst’s idea for ‘The Replacement’ came from director Christopher Leone’s friend Paul Workman, who worked with him on the 2006 SyFy miniseries ‘The Lost Room’. Snickers’ ‘Live Bait’ emerged from director Gabriel Miller’s while he was actually doing some fishing at his family’s beach house in Denmark.
