In a survey conducted by the Reputation Institute (RI), a private research and consulting organisation founded in 1997 at the Stern School of Business (NYU), 30,000 consumers in 25 countries were assessed to measure the corporate reputations of more than 600 of the world’s largest companies. Eight Indian companies were found to rank substantially among the first 200 companies on the list.
The online survey relied on Reputation Institute’s RepTrak™ methodology. This methodology invites representative samples of consumers from around the world to rate the largest companies in their home market on an index of their positive feeling, trust, admiration and esteem. Scores range from a low of 0 to a high of 100. In order to enable international comparisons, all RepTrak™ Pulse scores are standardised at both the country and global levels.
Amongst the first 100 companies, the Tata Group ranks high at number 20, with a Pulse score of 79.41. Maruti Suzuki follows at number 91, with a Pulse score of 73.08.
