Kamal Hingorani has been in the aviation and travel industry for more than 25 years
SpiceJet, the private low cost carrier, has appointed Kamal Hingorani vice-president, marketing and planning. Hingorani moves in from ITC Travel House, where he was executive vice-president, marketing and planning.
Hingorani has been in the aviation and travel industry for more than 25 years and has served international airline companies such as Sri Lankan Airlines, Kuwait Airways and Gulf Air. In the travel sector, apart from ITC Travel House, he has worked with Kuoni Travel. He has served at these places in various capacities – from operations and sales, to marketing, strategy and network management.
Hingorani is an alumnus of IIM-Bangalore, where he completed his executive general management. He has pursued his postgraduation in business management and is an Honours graduate in science from Delhi University.
Commenting on Hingorani’s appointment, Ajay Singh, director, SpiceJet, says, “Hingorani’s mandate will be to lead all the marketing and strategic planning aspects of the company. With his strong credentials and rich experience, he is a valuable addition to SpiceJet.”
Taking charge of his position at SpiceJet, Hingorani says, “I am excited to be part of the leading low cost carrier in the country. I wish to contribute towards this goal and thereby induce the growth and profitability of the airline.”
For the record, SpiceJet, which began its services in May 2005, was launched by Ajay Singh, the Kansangra family and Sanjay Malhotra. Today, it operates more than 118 daily flights in several cities such as Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai, Hyderabad, Jammu, Srinagar, Jaipur, Ahmedabad, Pune, Bangalore, Goa and Varanasi.
