O&M, Chennai bags four new businesses

The combined size of the businesses is an estimated Rs 12 crore

Seems like Ogilvy, Chennai, is on a roll. The agency has bagged the creative duties for the grocery retail chain Subhiksha, retail bookstore Odyssey, TVS Electronics and part of the Buhari Group. Most of these wins come from competitive pitches.

The Subhiksha, Odyssey and Buhari Group accounts were bagged by the agency recently, whereas the TVS Electronics account came to it in April this year.

The combined size of these four businesses is estimated to be around Rs 12 crore.

Subhiksha is a Chennai-based low-price food, grocery and pharmacy retail chain. The company is looking forward to setting up stores across Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat, Maharashtra and north India towards the end of this year.

Odyssey is a well-known retail bookstore which sells all kinds of books, cards, gifts, stationery, toys, music CDs and cassettes as well as multimedia items.

TVS Electronics, a TVS group company, is a manufacturer of computer peripherals like printer, keyboard, mouse, UPS, etc.

The Buhari Group is a business house that is present in different sectors from shipping and construction to education. However, the business to fall under O&M, Chennai’s kitty is the advertising duties for West Asia Maritime (the shipping cargo company of Buhari Group) and East Coast Constructions India (ECCI – their construction company).

About the strategies that helped the agency win the businesses, Krishna Mohan, president, O&M, Chennai, says, “Subhiksha, Odyssey and TVS Electronics were looking for marketing communications that would result in a more effective connect with the consumer which would, in turn, help the respective clients garner a larger market share. Buhari, however, was looking at creating awareness and building a corporate identity.”

“Our 360-degree approach towards the client’s needs helped us stand out,” confesses Mohan.
