Rediffusion’s Gangadharan to join ‘Cricinfo’ as head, marketing

Based in Bangalore, Gangadharan will head the Indian marketing operations for the company and report to Jairaj Daniel, global head, marketing, ‘Cricinfo’

Premdeep Gangadharan, who was general manager of Rediffusion DY&R’s Chennai branch till recently, will soon join cricket magazine, ‘Cricinfo’. Based in Bangalore, Gangadharan will join ‘Cricinfo’ as head, marketing, on an all-India level. He will report to Jairaj Daniel, global head, marketing, ‘Cricinfo’.

Gangadharan has more than 13 years of experience in the field of advertising. Prior to his stint with Rediffusion DY&R, he worked with Saatchi & Saatchi, Bangalore, for eight years. He has also worked earlier with agencies such as McCann-Erickson and MAA Bozell.

Commenting on the reason for his move to ‘Cricinfo’, Gangadharan says, “I have always had a passion for sports. With India increasingly becoming the career destination for sports, it provides all the more opportunities for a career to grow and expand. I will use my learning in my advertising career so far to steer the magazine’s growth.”

Among Gangadharan’s more memorable projects at Rediffusion are the communication strategies he helped devise for Citibank and skincare brand Cuticura.

For the record, ‘Cricinfo’ is published by the Infomedia India Group under a licence agreement with the Wisden Group. Launched in January 2006 in India, this monthly magazine is aimed primarily at Indian readers both in India and abroad. It has feature articles written by some popular cricket writers and also offers in-depth statistics on the cricket players of the world.
