Hungama Mobile will provide ‘Spiderman-3’ content in English and Arabic to du, a telecom operator in UAE

Hungama Mobile will give exclusive access to its ‘Spiderman-3’ content in English and Arabic to du, a telecom operator in the United Arab Emirates, under a new partnership deal. The content will be available to subscribers on du’s mobile portal, MyWorld. While some of the content -- including ringtones, games, videos and theme music -- can be downloaded for a fee, some will be available for free.

“With a global business of $23 billion, the mobile entertainment industry is expected to grow to $42 billion by 2010 and mobile phones aren’t too far behind as potential media vehicles in this growth,” said Neeraj Roy, managing director and chief executive of Hungama Mobile, in a statement.

“Our customers can look forward to digital content for their mobiles from upcoming SONY movies like the next James Bond movie and Zorro series over the course of the year. We are excited about this new world of mobile content and constantly pushing the boundaries of what we as a service provider, offer our customers,” added Osman Sultan, chief executive of du.

Hungama Mobile has partnerships with 77 operators across 30 countries including Sri Lanka, Kuwait, Qatar, Israel and Saudi Arabia. In India, Hungama Mobile partnered with Hutch for a three-month deal on ‘Spiderman-3’ content in English. It now plans to tie up with other operators for the movie’s content in Hindi, Tamil, Telgu and Bhojpuri.
