Percept Knorigin appointed creative agency for WAYN.com

WAYN claims to have 8 per cent of its total traffic already coming from India and it aims to gain more ground in the Indian social media market

UK-based travel and lifestyle social media website, WAYN.com has appointed Percept Knorigin as its official creative agency in India. This move signifies the website’s ambitions to capture the wave of social media sites that have caught the fancy of India’s Internet-savvy population.

WAYN claims to have 8 per cent of its total traffic already coming from India and it aims to gain more ground in the Indian social media market. “Despite its popularity, it has not been able to monetise this huge traffic of around half a million users of its total 5.8 million users worldwide. We are going to help them generate value from their India browsers,” says Viraj Malik, managing director, Percept Knorigin. ”We aim to make it a first option marketing platform for online travel portals in India and help them chase their audience by leveraging WAYN’s platform.”

The agency plans to increase WAYN’s brand recall value for end-users in India. “We do not plan to do any offline campaigns, only online promotions and marketing through on-ground events at the relevant places,” says Malik.

WAYN.com operates in 220 countries across the world and its registered users are reported to have grown from 45,000 in March 2005 to more than eight million at present. WAYN stands for ‘Where Are You Now’ and helps members keep in touch. Members of the WAYN network can make friends based on where they have been, where they are travelling currently and also plan future trips with travellers moving to the same destination.
