Madison’s Prasun Kumar moves to ‘Dainik Jagran’

Kumar, who was media director with Madison, will join ‘Dainik Jagran’ as chief manager, brand development

After two years with Madison as media director, Prasun Kumar, is moving to join ‘Dainik Jagran’ as chief manager, brand development. Kumar will move into his new assignment from April 7.

Kumar, who has spent around eight years in media planning, now wants to move on in life. He says, “When I was looking for a new opportunity, ‘Dainik Jagran’ offered me this tempting one, which was really difficult to resist.”

He adds, “I hope to learn a lot from such a big group as Jagran and to play a big role when it comes to Jagran’s expansion plans.”

The Dainik Jagran Group is planning to go beyond the broadsheet business. It announced its IPO in December 2005 and bagged FM licences early this year. Jagran is also planning to capture new media by venturing into the Internet and outdoor business.

Kumar will be responsible for the communication, research and brand development of Jagran. He will continue to be based in Delhi and report to Basant Rathore, general manager, brand development. Rathore also moved to Jagran from Madison, but more than a year ago.

Kumar says his experience at Madison was quite enriching.

Before joining Madison, Kumar was associated with Optimum Media Solutions for about two years. Before that, he worked with Universal McCann. He holds an MBA degree from the Times School of Management.
