Thakur is filling in the shoes of Albert Almeida, who put in his papers in March
Sony Entertainment Television has got a new business head in Ajit Thakur. The post was lying vacant since March, when Albert Almeida, executive vice-president and business head, Sony Entertainment Television, put in his papers.
Prior to joining Multi Screen Media's (MSM) general entertainment channel, Sony, Thakur was chief executive officer with Balaji Motion Pictures. Before that, he worked with UTV Pictures as chief operating officer.
In his new role, Thakur will report to NP Singh, chief operating officer, MSM.
Thakur is a graduate from Hindu College and has an MBA degree from IIM, Lucknow. Besides Balaji Motion Pictures and UTV Pictures, Thakur has also worked with Coca Cola India and Unilever. At Coca Cola India, he handled Sprite and Fanta. At Unilever UK, he was global brand director, Snuggle.
