No Judges. No Votes. Colors' new reality show 'India Banega Manch' is all about winning over the crowd!

After Rising Star, Colors adds another dimension to LIVE audience engagement with OPPO Camera phone presents 'India Banega Manch'. The show will telecast on every Saturday and Sunday at 9:00 PM.

On Indian television, reality shows sell like hotcakes. On one hand, they break the monotony of drama series for the viewers while on other they serve as a platform for people to showcase the talent and get their deserving moments of fame. Many entertainment channels have time & again launched vivid reality shows with different formats, which have been successful in luring the audience and reaping high TRPs.

Now, Colors, one of the leading general entertainment channels in India, is all set to take LIVE audience engagement to newer heights with 'India Banega Manch'. The show which is the Indian version of the successful Israeli format, 'Win the Crowd', raised the curtains on May 07, 2017.

In a departure from the regular reality shows, 'India Banega Manch' is beyond the confines of a studio and celebrity judges. The show doesn't involve the concept of votes or judges but has set streets as the stage and all that the participants need to do is win the crowd. Produced by BBC Worldwide Entertainment, India Banega Manch, will bring the power-packed talent and performances to television screens every Saturday and Sunday at 9:00 PM on Colors.

Popular faces of the television industry, Krushna Abhishek, and Mona Singh would be seen hosting the show. The duo will empower the LIVE on-ground audience to select hunarbaaz (the talented lot) who possesses the capability to stun the crowd within 5 minutes of their performance. Further, Krushna and Mona are also assigned with a responsibility of soothing the hunarbaaz's nerves and provide respite with their witty comments.

So far, the show has been shot at multiple iconic and historical locations such as - Red Fort and Delhi Haat in New Delhi, Juhu Beach and Kala Ghoda in Mumbai, and New Market and Princep Ghat in Kolkata to name a few, making the streets a playground for the talent.

Commenting on the show, Raj Nayak, CEO - Colors said, "Following the success of Rising Star, we are taking our belief in the audiences' ability to choose the extraordinary talent to the next level with India Banega Manch. We are proud to bring to our viewers another path-breaking show which has been shot LIVE on the streets, sans any stage, judges or votes. Keshet International is the format owner of this concept which we thought was apt for a market like India which has exceptional talent hidden in every nook and cranny."

In terms of brand partnerships, Colors has roped in OPPO Camera phone as the Presenting Sponsor for 'India Banega Manch'. Chinese smartphone maker is notably taking big steps into India, a key market where it will begin manufacturing at a more granular level besides entering into the online sales segment. Recently, OPPO entered a mega sports sponsorship by partnering with ICC Cricket Championship Trophy. Now, with India Banega Manch, the company seems to tap the entertainment market and expands its reach among the masses.

The scale of the show can be judged from the very fact that Colors is eyeing to run a robust high decibel 360-degree marketing campaign, PAN India, that will effectively leverage all mediums such as outdoor, on-air, radio and digital to garner top-of-mind recall among viewers.

On the digital front, the channel has designed a holistic campaign in an endeavor to drive conversations across several social media platforms. During the launch phase, the channel lined up activities such as blogger outreach program, and a video contest named 'Talent Ka Manch' asking the LIVE audience to share the videos of talent witnessed by them.

Besides, the channel will further highlight the core aspect of the show - 'No judges, no hosts, no sets - only talent!'- through numerous creatives, pictures, and gifs. Further, to let the audience get a deeper glimpse into the lives of the hunarbaaz and facilitate relatability, the channel also rolled out a unique initiative called 'Manch Ke Ustaad'.

Beholding the unique concept of the show and India's prolonged love with the traditional medium of entertainment i.e. street plays (nukkad nataks), 'India Banega Manch' is expected to garner huge popularity. This is the first time that a talent hunt show with such a concept is hitting the grounds of Indian television where the audience will witness the rarest jewels (talents) of India taking precedence over the stage, celebrity judges, glitz, and glamour. Though, it lies ahead in the future how well the masses be able to connect with a show whose format defies tradition while welcoming the new wave of talent in the mainstream.
