‘Hum Tum’ pair to endorse Chevrolet Aveo

The Chevrolet Aveo is a new generation car with class leading performance

General Motors India has roped in the ‘Hum Tum’ pair, Saif Ali Khan and Rani Mukherjee, to endorse its mid-sized sedan, the Chevrolet Aveo. The Aveo, which is expected to take on the Ford Fiesta and Honda City, is seen as a car with segment defining performance, great looks and styling, space and fuel efficiency. Among the first of three new Chevrolet products debuting in the first half of 2006, the Aveo is slated to go on sale nationwide within the next two weeks.

Rajeev Chaba, president and managing director, General Motors India, says, “More than the emotional connect, we were looking at ambassadors who would embody the dimensions of performance and aesthetics, substance and style plus class and exuberance.”

He adds, “The search brought us to Khan and Mukherjee, two new generation and successful stars of today. They represent style, class and depth. The characters that they have portrayed in their movies have won the hearts of millions and they are well-entrenched icons for the people that the campaign will address. Together, they will dramatise the superiority of the Aveo over the competition and bring alive the positioning of the Aveo as the embodiment of great performance and immaculate aesthetics.”

The Aveo is being manufactured at GM India’s facility in Halol, Gujarat, and redefines the small car segment. The Aveo offers youthful refinement inside and out, a crisp and modern exterior design, generous features typical of more expensive cars and a smooth and safe driving experience. It will be joined by the Aveo U-VA and the Optra SRV in the following months as part of the largest expansion of GM India’s vehicle line-up in the company’s history.

For the record, General Motors India is a wholly owned subsidiary of General Motors Corporation.
