It’s the day for the Big Bang

Ad Club, Bangalore, will host its annual Big Bang Awards for creativity today

Ad Club, Bangalore, is gearing up to host its annual Big Bang Awards today at the Bangalore Palace. The awards recognise creative excellence in various fields in advertising. The awards are open to the advertising fraternity across the country, though in the past, entries from the South have dominated them.

But there is a difference this year. Arvind Kumar, president, Ad Club, Bangalore, says, “This year, we have received entries from various agencies based in Mumbai and Delhi. Though there is a need to take this event to a more national level, one must not forget that there is probably a greater need to give a platform to regional players and recognise their work.”

Kumar informs us that they have received close to 660 entries this year. He explains, “We had on our panel nine judges who were split into groups of three. The panel rated the entries on the basis of creative idea, execution, adaptability of the idea to multimedia and its relevance to the TG. They were then given scores on a scale of 1-10. The individual scores of the judges were finally compiled to reach a fair decision.”

The Big Bang Awards are presented in various categories, including TVC, print campaign and multimedia campaign. The coveted Agency of the Year award is given based on a point tally system.
