Josy Paul on the Television/Cinema Jury for Clio 2007

Josy Paul, the recently appointed national creative director of JWT, has been invited to join the Television/Cinema Jury for the 48th Clio Festival, 2007. The jury will be chaired by John Hegarty, chairman and worldwide creative director, Bartle Bogle Hegarty. The jury has 14 members, including Paul and Hegarty.

The judging process for the Television/Cinema category will rate entries on a scale of 1-10. It will start on April 3 and conclude on April 11. The first few days of the process will involve preliminary judging to create short-lists and the final few days will determine the gold, silver and bronze winners as well as the winner of the Grand Clio.

Paul remarks, “The world over, Clio is one of the most celebrated names in advertising and design. Despite a good idea, what really makes the difference between a gold, silver and bronze is that last mile of execution. With international awards, a lot of significance is laid on the craft and how well an idea has been executed. Therefore, a good idea can only be a winner if it’s complemented with excellent execution. From India, the Happydent Chewing Gum film, which also won a gold at AdFest 2007, has immense scope this time.”

The presentation ceremony for the 48th Annual Clio Festival will take place on Miami Beach, May 9-12, 2007. The festival will include the opening night and reception, the Lifetime Achievement Award presentation, creative workshops and seminars, two awards galas and screenings of the Clio TV Shortlist.
