Publicis Ambience launches South ops; Rediff’s Tiwari to head

Kaushik Tiwari will function as the executive vice-president of Publicis Ambience’s South operations. He brings with him 15 years of experience in the advertising industry

Publicis Ambience has finally launched its operations in South India, starting with offices in Bangalore and Chennai. So far, the agency had its operations only in Mumbai and Delhi. Agency executives don’t feel it’s late in the day to lay emphasis down South, as Publicis Ambience recently underwent re-branding, and expansion is the natural next step.

To head Publicis Ambience in the southern region, Kaushik Tiwari has been roped in as executive vice-president. Prior to this, Tiwari was with Rediffusion DY&R, heading the agency’s South operations as vice-president.

Commenting on his move, Tiwari says, “The rapidly evolving businesses in the South have a pressing need for freshness in their brand communication. From this point of view, I think the timing of starting Publicis Ambience’s South operations is just right, as the agency will have a lot of freshness to offer.”

Aniruddha Banerjee, president and COO, Publicis Ambience, adds, “Entering the South is a critical strategic move for us – therefore, hiring the right leader was paramount. In Tiwari, we have found a real gem as he knows the terrain and the business.”

Tiwari’s 15-year-old career kick started with a stint at Triton, Mumbai, followed by another one in the erstwhile Zen Advertising. After spending seven years in Mumbai, Tiwari moved to South India, where he worked with RK Swamy/BBDO, Grey Worldwide (where he started the Chennai branch), and the more recent, Rediffusion DY&R. During his ad career, Tiwari has worked on brands such as Citibank, ING Vysya, Medimix, Tata Tea, Cuticura and Kinetic.
