In that context [v] Launch Pad, serves as a perfect opportunity for these musicians to showcase their talent, not just to Indians, but to a global audience."

The competition opens for registration from December 15, 2004 onwards and, the auditions are scheduled for December 20. While music groups, from across the country can participate, for the auditions however, they would have to travel to Mumbai.

When quizzed about the kind of music band Channel [v] intends to launch, Deb replies, "CHannel [v] is open to any form of music practised by the bands. It could be an Indipop or a rock band, all we are seeking is originality. The band should be able to write its own lyrics and compose original music."

Ultimately, five music bands will make it to the final round of [v] Launch Pad. In the deciding round that will take place on January 15, each of the five bands will get to perform with an international artist.
