Hotstar to release Indian adaptation of BBC Series 'Criminal Justice' on April 5

The Indian version of the BBC hit will be available in 7 languages.

Following close on the heels of its debut show - 'Roar of the Lion' - Hotstar has announced the launch of its second Special - 'Criminal Justice'. The new drama series marks directorial debut of Tigmanshu Dhulia with Vishal Furia. The show features the likes of Pankaj Tripathi, Vikrant Massey, Mita Vashisht, Anupriya Goenka, and Jackie Shroff who makes his digital debut with the show.

This BBC Studios India production, presented by Applause Entertainment, is the Indian adaption of the hit BBC series - 'Criminal Justice' - which was also adapted into the Emmy Award-winning HBO show - 'The Night of'.

Commenting on the second big release under the Hotstar Specials division, Varun Narang, EVP and chief product officer at Hotstar, says in a press release, "With Hotstar Specials collaborating with Applause Entertainment, we aim to bring some of the best stories to Indian audiences on Hotstar. One such story is 'Criminal Justice'. The crime thriller with a mind-blowing storyline will have the audience wanting for more. 'Criminal Justice' follows Aditya Sharma's (Vikrant Massey) journey as one incident completely turns his life around. The ambitions 24-year-old Sharma lives with his middle-class family in Mumbai and is quite aware of his middle-class roots. A decent individual who drives his father's taxi to supplement his family's income, his life is turned upside down when his last trip of the night ends with him being accused of the brutal murder of his female passenger. As skeletons tumble out of his closet, one begins to wonder whether Sharma is innocent or in fact, guilty of a gruesome crime.

'Criminal Justice' will stream from April 5 and will be available in seven languages.
