David bags Channel 7’s creative duties

The agency bagged the account without any pitch being called for

After handling the CNN-IBN launch, Brand David has now bagged the creative duties for Channel 7, TV18’s soon to be launched Hindi news channel.

Brand David is already working on TV18’s English news channel, CNN-IBN.

Dilip Venkatraman, director, marketing, Channel 7 and CNN-IBN, says, “Brand David did remarkable creative work for CNN-IBN and we zeroed in on them after proper evaluation of the market. They already have a sense of how we want to approach the market and what our strategy should be.” That explains why there was no pitch for the account.

Josy Paul, chairman and national creative director, Brand David, says, “We are keen to work with a challenging brand like Channel 7. Our key mandate will be to partner Channel 7 in making it the preferred Hindi news channel in a highly competitive environment.”

Venkatraman asserts, “It is very important for us to get the right message out as we will be entering the Hindi news market. Keeping in mind that the core values of both the channels are the same, we want to create an impact on the mind of the audience. We are sure that Brand David will be able to get the right message across.”

The channel is also to finalise its media agency – Venkatraman says, “The decision will be taken on June 1.”

Channel 7 will be launched with the tagline, ‘Khabar Har Keemat Par’, keeping in line with the tagline of CNN-IBN, ‘Whatever It Takes’.
